33. HV Flyback power supply

In the old project, I showed you how you can make your own HV power supply using a microwave transformer. The MOT generates big arcs-perfect for any HV applications. Just know that handling High voltage requires safe, or else electrocution can occur.

This HV power supply can deliver such an output, using 2 main components, a flyback transformer, and an AC Electronic ballast. The ballast serves as a crude driver for the Flyback since the output is mainly AC. Then the current goes to the primary of the transformer, where the voltage was increased, thus, an HV output is produced.

Everything is mounted onto a board, where the flyback transformer is housed inside the PVC pipe and acts as a barrier from things that may harm the flyback's functionality.

It is simple to make, and using such a power supply still has the risks as the microwave transformer. However, the sparks were usually small in comparison (shown above) and are usually hot in small concentrations for the spark.

There are experiments for this flyback power supply, such as the Jacobs ladder, AC production, and so on!
