40. Musical tesla coil

This is the time of the year, a Tesla coil can emit music from the plasma arc. It is a Solid-state Tesla coil, which it uses transistors, and other discrete components, to create a similar switching effect as the spark gap, only that this time, it runs at a high frequency.

The Tesla coil circuit was similar to the slayer exciter circuit (used in 2015-2016 for the previous Tesla coil), only this time it has a MOSFET installed in the circuit. Combined with the power transistor, as well as other components such as an led and the coil,  they start to oscillate together and generate the spark right at the secondary coil.

The only problem with this Tesla coil and the circuit-in terms of generating music is the fact that it produces a very low, audible sound/music, even with the signal level going high from the phone. Your best option to make the audible sound louder is to either fashion a speaker cone and place it inside where the spark was being generated or get a mono amplifier. These 2 methods help boost the decibels coming from the plasma speaker, and thus, you will hear the music from the plasma spark better.

Everything was housed in a wooden base, where the circuit was soldered into the PCB, to make it cleaner. Due to the usage of power transistors and MOSFET, you have to install a heat sink to them just so they can cool down, and prevent any further damage.

Since this is a high-voltage project, be very cautious, as it may harm you if you are careless to operate this Tesla coil. Even then, it is still a fun project to try, and a great way to hear music from something rather than the actual coil/diaphragm speakers.
